Race Phillip Island

The first race of the year in World Superbike and Supersport 600 was held today at

Phillip Island Australia.

This was the first race for the Cresto Guide rider Alexander Lundh in the supersport 600

worldchampionship.

Alex was 15 th on the grid, but his race was to be short.

In the start he was 16 th away from the grid, he made some nice passes and was up

to 10 th place after 2 laps, with close contact of the riders in front.

2 riders blew up their engines and crashed with oil spill on the track as the result.

The red flag was shown and the heat was stopped.

The restart was declared new race, witch was a problem for Alex. He did not have any

new tires left of his favorite compound, so he chosed to start with used ones.

The track had a lot of oil rests in 3 corner wich gave the riders some problems.

5 laps in to the race Alex collided with another rider and had a small crash.

He picked up the bike and tried to continue but the damages was to big.

The race was won by Eugene Laverty 4,3 sec before Joan Lascorz and Kenan Sofuoglu.

Alex: It was a shame I couldn't finnish the race i needed that experience it would given me.

Now I must look forward and use my new knowledge in Portimao, and continue to

develop my riding.

Except the race after the restart, the team is happy with the weekend, we have learnt

a lot about setting up the bike for Alex needs, but also that he needs a different

riding style on these big and fast circuits.

Next round is at Portimao in Portugal in 4 weeks.
